Recovery instructions

The finder of your lost PDA or other item must see recovery instructions that include our telephone number and main web site address. They contact us directly and we will recover your PDA/item for you. These instructions can appear on:

• A screensaver/wallpaper image you download to your PDA. You can generate a suitable image on our web site.
• A plastic fob you attach to your PDA - see picture at the bottom of this web page.
• An adhesive label you stick to the back of your PDA. We print these sticky labels in bulk for individual customers.

SMS recovery

Many people carry mobile phones and know how to use text (SMS) messages. The finder sees the following in the recovery instructions:

Text 67289543 to 07624 492536

where 67xxxxxx is the unique serial number we assign to you. When they send that text message, the following happens completely automatically:

• The finder receives a text message back:
  

  Serial 67289543 found?. We will call u. Good reward. Pls leave msg 01624-618646 ur name, numbers, address. www.recoverpda.com/pf.html

• We receive text and email notification of the above message and contact the finder so that we proceed with recovery as quickly as possible. The finder sends the PDA back to our Freepost address and we return it to you.
  
  
• You optionally receive a text message (sent to up to 3 numbers you register when you join RecoverPDA):
  

  Serial 67289543. Your PDA lost?. Leave voice msg for us 01624-618646 if u want. www.recoverpda.com/pl.html

• You optionally receive an email notification message (sent to up to 3 addresses you register when you join RecoverPDA).
  
  
• The finder receives a pre-agreed reward for recovery. This is typically in the range £20-£50. We usually pay that by cheque and recover the amount from you.
  
  
• If the finder agrees, we can give you their contact details and you can meet up with them yourself to recover your PDA. In this case you must give them the reward in cash when you meet up.
